The Mozambique hunting concessions cover 5,000 square kilometres of some of the most diverse habitat and animal species found in Africa, having 22 huntable game species ranging from the tiny Livingston Suni to the mighty hippo.

Mark Haldane began Game Hunters Africa in 1986 and slowly built it up to become one of the best safari experiences available.

Assisted by a great team, they have a remarkable 86% repeat clientele. Mark has guided hunting in all of the southern countries of Africa, and as far away as Canada, Romania and Australia.

Highlights of his career have been a 47 inch buffalo, 80lb elephant, 18.5 inch bushbuck as well as the number 1 suni and red duiker with a hand gun.

HUNTING AREA:

Mozambique is situated in the south east of Africa and contains vast wilderness areas, unchanged from their past fame as Africa's greatest hunting lands.

Varied terrain include sand forests, tropical savannah, swamps and flood plains. Located in the central part of Mozambique, and near the coast, the concessions of Coutada 11 and 12 give an extent of 5,000 square km's of prime big game hunting.

Zambeze Delta Safaris' concessions hold 22 huntable game species including buffalo, antelope, elephant, hippo, crocodile and sable, and have sound Game Management practices and Anti-Poaching programs in place, and have managed to help increase the numbers of game in the area for future generations.

  • HEALTH/CLIMATE

The climate ranges from tropical to subtropical and varies in the different regions of the country, but while the inland areas are generally slightly cooler they are more humid in the rainy season than along the coast. The rainy season broadly coincides with the heat and humidity of the hot months, between November–March, though most provinces have some rain over seven to nine months of the year. The average temperature for Mozambique all year-round is 82 degrees Fahrenheit (28 degrees Celsius). Coastal temperatures during the rainy season average 88 degrees Fahrenheit (31 degrees Celsius).

Winter, from April to September, is the dry season, and it is the best time to visit the country. The average temperature in the winter for the coastal areas does not fall below 57 degrees Fahrenheit (12 degrees Celsius). The southern parts of the country are generally drier and less tropical than the north, and the temperature along the coast averages 80 degrees Fahrenheit (27 degrees Celsius).
