  • THE CAMP

Marromeu Safaris offers a comfortable and rustic experience with its large reed and thatch communal lounge-cum-dining area, creating the perfect space for relaxation and socializing. The camp’s lapa serves as a gathering point where hunters exchange stories, plan for the next day, and enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the African night sky. Equipped with fridges, deep-freezers, and a popular ice machine, the camp ensures that cool drinks and ice are available at all times.

At full capacity, the camp accommodates up to 20 people, with an option for exclusive use if desired. Guests are housed in spacious log cabins that are both insect-proof and tastefully furnished in warm, inviting tones. Each cabin features en-suite bathrooms with hot and cold running water, along with modern conveniences like flush toilets, ensuring a comfortable and refreshing stay deep in the heart of Mozambique’s wild landscapes.

  • CLIMATE/HEALTH

Mozambique enjoys a warm, tropical climate, with an average temperature around 28°C (82°F). Coastal regions experience sunny and warm conditions, even during the midwinter months. The country’s summer season, lasting from October to April, is characterized by hot, humid, and rainy weather, while the cooler, drier winter months, from April to September, offer the most comfortable and pleasant conditions for visitors.

However, the climate can vary significantly across different regions. The northeastern coastal areas tend to be the hottest and most humid, while higher-altitude regions, like Nampula, are cooler. Along the coast, expect hot and humid days, but inland regions offer some relief with cooler nights following warmer days. The rainy season occurs from October to March in the southern parts of Mozambique, while in areas north of the Zambezi River, rains start and end about six weeks later. This seasonal variation provides hunters and visitors with different ideal times depending on their destination within the country.
